There’s a disconnect between a lot of people and the real actual THINGS that make food. Not everybody works in a restaurant, and a lot of people have bought into the culture around them.

That’s not good for us, but no fucking way it makes this article wrong-headed. Maybe it’s unintentional, and maybe I’m just hearing you wrong, but you are shouting this down from quite the ivory tower. I’ll try to keep myself humble when I’m making my own marshmallows, or I might just make me some fucking marshmallows and eat the fuck out of ‘em.

That guy strikes me as a guy who will do anything to appeal to people who might throw a vote at him. He doesn’t believe any of the stuff he says or does, but he’ll pretend it does to get attention!

Finally got around to reading this book.

But maybe I shouldn’t have, because I’m now feeling urges to:

give fewer fucks about what people think of me when I’m doing how I do;
openly criticize people who aren’t doing things the way I would do them;
eschew the open-source world of Android for a tightly controlled end-to-end user experience (i.e. get an iPhone this fall)

The last one concerns me, mostly because he ain’t running Apple anymore.

In short, I buy into the cult of this guy’s personality, while maintaining enough perspective to say iProducts aren’t automatically THE BEST.

Awesome book, though.
