Even if you don’t like Justin Bieber, it’s not about that. This is about Avalanna Routh.

Avalanna Routh has ATRT (Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumors). These are fast growing tumors that form in the cerebellum (brain stem) and effect walking, talking, eating and hearing. Also, heartbeat, nerves and breathing. No cure has been found for this type of tumor. She isn’t estimated to live much longer. Avalanna’s dream was too meet Justin Bieber. Avalanna is 6 years old. Avalanna and Justin have something special. It’s not fan to popstar, it’s brother to sister. She’s met him 3 times since her life span estimation. The most recent time she met Justin, he asked her what her life’s dream was. She shyly answered

“To marry you.”

Justin gave Avalanna a little ring, and he said: “Take this,” as he handed it to her. “We just got engaged! You’re gonna be Mrs. Bieber” They told her she was ‘engaged’ to Justin, and he held her and gave her kisses. Justin loves Avalanna, and she means so much too him. On his ‘All Around The World: NBC Special’ they recorded Justin talking about Avalanna and he said:

“She means everything to me because she’s just so strong, and she’s uh, sorry I’m getting emotional but I just want everyone of you to just tonight say a little prayer for her.”

Regardless of all of that heart warming stuff, Justin and his team got word that Avalanna’s tumors are now affecting a larger part in her brain, and she is losing her ability to speak. They think it’s taking her faster than they expected.

Say what you will about the kid’s music, but between stuff like this and his takeover of CollegeHumor on that April Fool’s Day, you can’t deny that he’s an alright guy.

I have no use for his music, but by all accounts he’s a decent human being.

Another reason I respect the Bieber: he was hit in the face with a thrown water bottle at a concert, and he shook it off and kept performing. Compare that to one of the members of Kings of Leon, who was hit on the shoulder by bird shit during a concert, so the entire band walked off the stage and refused to finish the show.

It’s honestly more work to dislike Justin Bieber than to like the things about him that are likeable.
