I think… maybe we were allowed to get all up in arms about SOPA and PIPA, so that less attention would be given to ACTA. I mean, look at all those acronyms. The protests and “outrage” over SOPA probably drained all the pseudo-political activity that many Internet users are going to be able to summon this year. Never mind how spoiled you sound when you say, “But we already talked about that one draconian law that’s aimed at restriction of freedom. Why do we have to talk about another one?”
That’s just your average computer-dweller, though. Sad, but true. Give them Facebook to refresh all day, and maybe some cat videos, and they’ll stare blankly ahead like they’re supposed to.
